Welcome to Thank You Annabeth. Thank You Annabeth was a project to thank Annabeth Gish (The X Files' Monica Reyes) for her time with the show. You will have seen other, similar projects for other actors elsewhere on the web, and they are all worthwhile. We particularly chose to thank Annabeth in this way because we admire her work and believe that her contribution to the show has been a meaningful one.
Our thank you is threefold: this site, an advertisement in Hollywood Reporter in May 2002, and a donation to her chosen charity, the Children's Hospital Of New Mexico. Small donations were also made to Carrie Tingley Hospital in Albuquerque, UNICEF Hong Kong, and The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company. This site will remain as a standing tribute to Annabeth for the foreseeable future.
October 6, 2003 (00:37 AEDT): I've received two lovely thank you notes - one from UNM Children's Hospital (here) and one from Laura Leigh Hughes, X Files supporting actress and executive director of The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company (here).
August 22, 2003 (11:14 AEDT): We're wrapping things up, paying our recipients and writing letters of thanks. The project's final contribution to charitable causes is just over US$2000. These include US$1800 to the Childrens' Hospital of New Mexico, US$150 to Carrie Tingley Hospital, donations through the Equity Program to UNICEF Hong Kong, and donations of signed merchandise to the Children's Hospital and to The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company, a program for troubled youth run by recurring X Files actress Laura Leigh Hughes. In addition, of course, we were able to run a tribute to Annabeth in The Hollywood Reporter's commemorative X Files edition last year. Thank you to all of you who donated, and special thanks to our corporate and fandom sponsors, our team, and Annabeth herself. Thank you all for your support!
