XFVCU
XFVCU: I apologise for the uncertainty about XFVCU at present. As I've noted on the site, we had a sudden death in the family last week and I haven't been in a position to chase up episodes. At this stage I expect to put up an episode this week. The series will definitely continue on a weekly basis as normal once I can get a bit more order back into things. My thanks to those who have offered condolences as well. However, I had some almost-done projects happening before things went topsy-turvy, so I still have some updates to offer.

Literatti: My fiction site has had a mini-revamp, with a better layout for stories themselves, and new fonts and other minor tweaks for ease of navigation and reading. There are also three new stories - Before, a 155-word Knowle/Shannon snippet; Before I Walk On Fire, a Follmer/Wainwright XFVCU missing scene (with art); and The Slender Line, an exploration of the Cigarette Smoking Man's descent into madness.

Laurie Holden
Leading Lady: At long last, the Laurie Holden site revamp is finished. We have a great new look, new DVD grabs from Race Through Time and Due South, news about Laurie's two new movies, a couple of new scans, and heaps of new public appearance images. Please note that all internal links within the site have changed. Many thanks to Steph for media hosting.

Music Videos: I have a new music video up today. Hero is a Krycek POV on himself, Mulder, Marita, and his motives for joining the conspiracy. Many thanks to the lovely Linzee for beta, and Steph for hosting. Please note that my videos have had a behind-the-scenes overhaul, as well - all internal links have changed (not that anyone besides hostees should be direct linking to videos anyway).

Impart: I have one new sketch up of Annabeth Gish at Impart. This was presented to Annabeth as part of a wedding gift put together by the lovely GishPhile of All Things Annabeth.

Gertie: I'm in the process of moving Mimi Magic, Xine, and the Ratcave out of Fredfarm, over to a mix of my own server and space kindly provided by Steph. Gertiebeth is calling it a day after several years of hosting many wonderful sites in the fandom at her own expense. Gertie (like Steph) is one of several unsung heroes of the fandom, whose beneficience and initiative provided a solution for webmasters after the virtual collapse of the free hosting industry in the late 1990s. She has quietly been providing the money behind some of the best sites in the fandom and making them possible and accessible for us all. Gertie, thank you for your generosity and community spirit, and I join my fellow former Fredfarmers in wishing you well for the future.

Kelly Weymire: Actress Kellie Waymire, who played Tammi in Surekill, passed away suddenly on November 13 of unknown causes. She was 35. She was an accomplished actress who appeared in Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise, CSI, NYPD Blue, and theatre roles, and was seen most recently in an LA production of Kate Crackernuts. Her fellow performers dedicated the November 21 and 22 performances to her memory.

Mitch Pileggi
Tarzan: Warner Bros production Tarzan, which starred Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) and Lucy Lawless (Shannon) was axed. The last episode of the show is believed to air in the US on November 23.

Howard Gordon: XF director Howard Gordon's latest project is a pilot about a socialite who finds herself embroiled in mysteries surrounding the rich and famous. Mystery Girl is being funded by UPN. Thanks to Alfornos!

2003 Spooky Awards: The Spookys are on again, and today is the final day for first-round voting. The final round will be up shortly. I'm nominated for a few, as are such wonderful writers as Spica, Winter Baby, J S Michel and more. Many thanks to everyone who has been nominating and voting, no matter who you're voting for. Participation is what makes it all worthwhile.

Zuleikha Robinson: The X Files Fan Club reports that Zuleikha (Yves) has been signed to star in a production of The Merchant Of Venice opposite Al Pacino. As previously reported, she's recently starred in Hidalgo, so it looks like her star is on the rise.

Kristen Cloke - TFWID's Melissa Ephesian
News Around The Web: Cassie and Kristi have both been busy - Cassie has moved and revamped Addicted To Doggett, and Kristi has a gorgeous new Kristen Cloke site, May You Get What You Want. Kristen played Melissa Ephesian in TFWID... Besides the ever-wonderful NickLea.com, I've found two other regularly-updated Nick sites, here and here... Speaking of NickLea.com, Leigh has some great video captures of an interview with Nick about The Investigation on Canadian TV recently... There are lots of David Duchovny updates to do with his production House Of D, so don't forget to check out GADD Archives and Duchovny.net... The wonderful fanfic rec site The Other Side has been updated...Spanish speakers may like to check out the leading Colombian XF site, ArchivosX.

Yahoogroups Pest: Those of you who maintain XF Yahoo or MSN groups may like to change your settings to make new members post moderated until you are satisfied they are legitimate posters. There is a pest around with some thoroughly distasteful things to say about Gillian Anderson and Chris Carter, who has twice now posted them to over a thousand X Files groups by his own admission. What sets this apart from your typical spam is both the nature and the sheer length of the posts (some over 60KB). His handles are usually some variation on xfiles_vixen, but he may use others.

In The Name Of Posterity: These are a few old news excerpts from the period that eXegesis was not posting news, during the planning phase of XFVCU. I'll be adding these gradually over the next few updates for the benefit of people who might not have seen them elsewhere when they came to pass. Annabeth Gish (Reyes) married longtime love Wade Allen in a private ceremony on October 11. There was a lovely wedding picture in the October 27 edition of People, available from ATA. Thanks to Gishphile and Alfornos...Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) appeared on Law And Order: SVU in the episode Loss last month...Lance Henriksen (Millennium) has signed on for a FOX movie, Alien Vs Predator, that combines the two franchises of the same name...I'm told that Annabeth's recurring gig on West Wing will continue. More blasts from the past next time!

Friday, November 7, 2003 - PATIENT X OUTTAKES!

Patient X Outtakes
Blondie's Ratcave: I have, after years of trying, finally got my hands on some elusive Krycek/Marita outtakes from the set of Patient X. I have screen captures, video clips, and, as always, lots of opinions to go with them. Don't miss these!

New Art: Among the many recent news items I need to write up is that Annabeth Gish (Reyes) married longtime partner Wade Allen last month. As part of a wedding gift presented to Annabeth, I made this sketch. I'll add that to Impart shortly.

Slightly Older Art: Another recent artwork was a different cover artwork for Prism (see XFVCU in the previous update). This artwork was one we decided not to use - it was a little too romantic, and didn't capture a casefile mood, and so I made the one depicted further down the page. However, I was rather pleased with it, so you might like to take a look.

New Acquisition: My newest autograph arrived recently - a signed photo of Cary Elwes and Annabeth Gish as Follmer and Reyes. I was only mildly interested in Follmer during the show's run, but he's grown on me in the course of writing XFVCU, so its arrival was timely. See it here.

Tuesday, November 4, 2003 - SITE WORKING BEE UPDATE!

I'm baaa-ack! I've had some real-life dramas so it will be a while before I'm really back to normal here. However, I'm going to go back to weekly updates, probably midweek, even if it's just a collage or picture or cool link. There's lots of fandom-level news I haven't gotten around to writing up yet, but I'm getting there. In the meantime, here's what I've been up to on the various sites over the last six weeks or so.

Prism
XFVCU: The big project at the moment, of course, is the XFVCU Virtual Series. We're now up to episode 7, Prism, a collective effort by myself, CindyET, Emily M, Eodrakken, Lara Means and Maidenjedi. A killer with a penchant for games poses a challenge to the entire team - and a crisis for one of their number. Don't miss the earlier episodes, either - I love them all, but I'm especially partial to Eo's Skyland, which sees Krycek back at Skyland Mountain, raising old ghosts for him and Mulder. If you don't know what it's all about, the site is here. There are also discussion forums to browse and join.

Mimi Magic: A long overdue update at Mimi Magic, with loads of new image galleries, among them Hider In The House, White Sands, My Horrible Year, XF: The Beginning and the XF One Son Deleted Scene. As well, there are some great new images in the Magazine gallery, including scans of her gorgeous nude shots from Michael Comte's safe sex awareness pictorial, and rare pictures of Mimi with her cat from the book Animal Magnetism. Plus, find out about Mimi's latest projects. Amongst other things, she and partner Chris Ciaffa are producing a WWII drama about American female fighter pilots starring Cameron Diaz.

Literatti: I've added three newish stories in the last few weeks. The Beginning Of The Long Goodbye is a moment between Follmer and Reyes after NIHT II. Caro de carne mea and Like Glowing Embers are companion Knowle/Shannon stories set in 1991, rated NC17 and R respectively. Also, I've cleaned up the collections and added more of them. As well, I've added the three XFVCU episodes I've written or co-written, and a missing scene from one of them.

UNM Thank You card
Thank You Annabeth: I've received two lovely thank you notes, one from the UNM Children's Hospital and the other from Laura Leigh Hughes, X Files supporting actress and executive director of the Unusual Suspects Theatre Company, which supports troubled teens in L.A. I've scanned them and put them up at the site. We raised just on US$2000 for Annabeth/XF-related charitable causes in the course of the campaign. As always, you can get the latest information about Annabeth's doings, including her West Wing gig, at GishPhile's All Things Annabeth.

Xines: I haven't forgotten about Xine, although it's gone on the backburner while I tackle XFVCU. I have two half-done Xines that I hope to get out over the next couple of months. I've also done minor site tweaking on the three Xines already there, mostly just fixing links that have changed, and adding new(ish) artworks by myself and Linzee to Immortal Beloved.

Partners collage
Neither Allegiance Nor Price: I've updated the Mulder/Diana fanlisting extras, with some new artwork by myself and Linzee, plus new fanfic and a Mulder/Diana The Beginning image gallery. This is my favourite form of MDR, the two of them working together in the field, and I made a collage to celebrate.

Sketch art: I've updated my sketch art site a couple of times recently, with new sketches of Lucy Lawless (Shannon) and Juliet Landau (Buffy's Drusilla). I also did some rougher, more experimental sketch art as cover artwork for my Knowle/Shannon stories Caro de carne mea and Like Glowing Embers. These were intentionally not modelled on the actors' likenesses as a matter of respect, because one depicted a sexual situation (non-explicit). Those won't be going on the sketch art site due to their more experimental nature, but I kind of like them, just the same.

Total Impact: I've updated my digital art site with some recent and not-so-recent artworks. I've already shown most of these here in the updates, I think, but you might like to take a look - there are some I've never put up before.
